     They say information is power. This website was created to empower YOU - to provide you with the FACTS and the TRUTH about Gamesa's SHAFFER MOUNTAIN WIND PROJECT - not the "spin" that too often appears in the news media. The FACTS are here. You can read them and decide for yourself.

     This website is not against wind energy. It is opposed to the improper siting of industrial wind plants. Our roadless/wilderness mountain with wetlands and streams of the highest quality in the Commonwealth serves as a home to threatened and endangered plants and is a major migration route for threatened and endangered birds. This is not the right place to build a massive industrial wind plant with 17 miles of road and transmission channels. To even think that this can be accomplished without serious environmental damage is insulting to the intelligence of the local populace.
